I would like to say that I am pretty successful in school as I have really good grades and balance a lot of extracurricular on with that ,which can get difficult at sometimes to manege. I also believe that it takes a lot a dedication and hard work in order to do well in addition to the tips I will be giving.
Scheduling is very important as if you double or even triple book yourself you will be losing out on experiences and will be prone to failure. That is why I use Google Calendar. I mean if you prefer just pen and parer in an agenda good for you. I personally prefer the versatility of using google calendar as I can use it with both my laptop and phone while still being able to have an easy-to-use interface. It allows to also to color code my schedule accordingly. Google Calendar has calendars you can share and add as well using calendars your teachers or coaches have made. I believe that Google Calendar overall has many great uses and is perfect for a high school student.
Sleep is important. Even though some of you may stay up playing games til 1am and can still wake up in the morning our brains can only store things in our long-term memory when we are in deep sleep so that is why it is important to get as much of it as we can. I don't usually get a full 8 hours but I usually go sometimes to bed sometime between 10 and 11 at night and wake up at 6am. Working out even for a short amount of time can help you wake up in the morning and having a good, protein filled breakfast in comparison to sugary breakfast cereals can prepare you for a nice long day of hard work.
Activities are important to your personal and academic success because martial arts such as Taekwondo like I do and other sports work towards important skills such as teamwork, respect, integrity, hard-work, and above all dealing with loss. You also have lots of fun which is fun and that is great, you can't lose yourself by doing homework all day. Other things can help you just as much as doing homework does.
Style can change your mark ever so slightly but every time you improve you can raise until you achieve your perfection. This includes how you take notes, when you do homework, time allotted for homework, and how you process information you need to know to be a better learner and perfect these habits like finding out if writing or drawing diagrams is better for you and the only way to do that is test. Test out what works best for you and stick with it.
If you achieve all of these things and perfect them you are on a path of success and a path to survive high school.
